2002 Bio
The award-winning group 2002 originally comprised multi-instrumentalists Pamela and Randy Copus, later joined by their daughter, Sarah on vocals, piano and harp. Both husband and wife had an early interest in music: Pamela started piano an early age and went on to study flute, guitar, bagpipes and harp, while Randy studied voice, guitar, piano and trumpet before immersing himself in recording and production. Randy worked as a recording engineer, session musician and vocalist, producer, and composer in studios in New York, L.A., New Orleans, Dallas, and Austin. After meeting in high school, their paths diverged for many years as they explored a variety of genres - everything from Jazz to industrial rock. In 1992 they left their respective bands and started 2002. Over their long career, their ever-evolving sound has encompassed a wide range of genres – everything from wistful ambient soundscapes all the way to light progressive rock. This daring blend of musical styles has given them an undeniable “signature sound” that sets them apart from other recording artists. In 2021, the group was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by One World Music Radio. Twelve albums made the Billboard Charts and their songs have accumulated over 1.5 billion streams.
